Road trip

Whenever your feeling a little stressed or maybe just not completely yourself a day with your favourite girls doing something a little different or something you love, to put a smile on your face, is also the best cure.
A couple of days ago I went on a little road trip to Edinburgh zoo with two of my favourite girlies to do just this. The trip included seeing the penguins, which are my favourite animals, so it couldn't help but to put a smile on my face!

Outfit: ASOS boots; Topshop black shorts; Topshop blue shirt; Black Topman bandana (Although I did take this out after a while haha)

We had such a lovely day seeing all the animals and running around like children again for the day. I can't remember the last time I went to the zoo and i've never been to the Edinburgh one before so it was a nice change and a change from being a, well I suppose, a grown up for the day.

I mean come on, who doesn't love baby meerkats, penguins running around and cute, sleepy koala bears? Trips like this before we go off to university are always ones to remember.

Something New

Getting back into blogging is going to be kinda weird but am going to give it a go. I find myself writing loads of different posts about all kinds of things but then manage to delete them and tell myself I'll try again another day.
I could explain many reasons why i've been away and not been writing but I thought i'd just keep it simple and starting back with a good old Mac lipstick love post. Who doesn't love one of those? plus one of the best ways to start my 'getting back into blogging' routine. Am gonna try stick to it this time (although I always say that haha).

I recently got back from holiday. When I'm away one of the highlights of my trip is always duty free shopping! On my way home I didn't have much time but managed to spot the Mac counter, straight away running over, grabbing the lipstick I wanted and then jumping on the plane heading for home.

I don't think most people would be to suprised that I picked up the colour syrup. I've heard many people talking about this colour recently that are in love with it! Now totally understanding why, I think its perfect for spring and summer but also autumn and winter. It is a really pretty light colour, that has a slightly purple undertone but with also a hint of pink, which I love. I find purples much easier to wear, especially compared to pinks, so this is a total happy medium.

Quick lipstick selfie before running off to work.

I really love this lipstick and although they are expensive, they are defiently some of the best on the market and there colour selection is amazing and unlike other brands!

Hello beautiful...

I have totally fallen for the 70's and 90's trend this season. I used to wear a lot of 90's style clothing or bring it into my wardrobe but now I am all about the 70's look or feel with a outfit. ASOS at the moment I think are on point with this trend. Hence the beautiful shoes above.

I'm the kind of girl that is always wearing boots. Something that adds a little edge to my look and a little height as well, of course. When 20% student discount came on the other week I went straight onto the ASOS website and bought these beautiful chelsea boots because well, just look at them!

Asos has by far turned into one of my favourite online stores for browsing and buying peices. I especially love the new stylist page where edits are shown, with the stylists favourite pieces, that are currently on the site. Megan Ellaby is by far my favourite and I now am always checking out her Instagram and page on the ASOS website for her favourite pieces and inspiration.

Outfit: Day to Night

Day

Night

A day to night look is anyways needed. Something easy you can put on during the day and then quickly change for a night time look. I recently turned eighteen so have been going on a few nights out. I always find that I am doing something during the day and its much easier to have a well planned day to night outfit.

In my last post I showed my love for this flared sleeve playsuit from ASOS, which I have been living in at the moment. It is a great day to night piece to have in your wardrobe because of the cut out back.

During the day I deiced to wear a little heart printed shirt underneath to cover my back. Perfect to add another cute detail, plus we all know I do love a collared shirt. Wore with a pair of black tights, cute black boots, a denim jacket and my trusty backpack I was good to go.

For a easy night time change I simply took the shirt off, my tights and wore a lovely pair of black heels. Then with a small clutch bag, a red lipstick and maybe a cheeky cocktail, I was ready to go for the night.

Simple and easy but great for day and night wear.

New favourites: 70s flares

So Lately I have had a tiny obsession with the 70s look. I think everyone has fallen back in love with the era and I have been slowly added the trend into my wardrobe. Now I love the flared jeans but they kind of scare me a little so I found these playsuits from ASOS as a little alternative.
They have the gorgeous flares but one the sleeves rather then the leg which I find easier to wear and a good way to start with.
These two playsuits are my new obsession and I've been living in them lately. They can be dressed up and dressed down, which you will see in a upcoming blog post, because of the cut of back detailing. For a more day to day look I have been wearing them with shirts and t-shirts under neither for the more day time look but for a night, bare backs all the way!

The print of this first playsuit is gorgeous. The lovely flower print with navy, blue and white. Its not to over the top and still very easy to wear. I black one below (couldn't find online) is a more jersey material and much easier to wear during the day with a little printed shirt underneath.

Outfit: Nice and Warm

So the last week or so we have had no internet which comes to be a big problem when blogging and for some reason the college computers wouldn't let me on. why? I don't know but I am back.. again.

At the beginning of this year I started a new job working in another retail store which I now love. I seem to be working more then I do much else at the moment. One of the bonuses of the job was I could wear my own clothes, as long as it represented the brand but the downside is the store is FREEZING so i've been having a hard time figuring out what to wear.

Last week I wore this little outfit which I loved.
This big oversized jumper was a good old h&m purchase that was only £14.99! ooo I do love a h&m bargain. I loved the colour of this jumper, in the photo I think it looks blue but is more of a pastel blue/purple colour in person.
Being comfy and cosy was my aim so I brought out a little black Zara swing dress. Placed a little collared t-shirt from Topshop underneath for added warmth and I was pretty much good to do.

I think I will be making another trip to h&m to pick up some more of these jumpers as there so big and cosy (very typical me), they are slightly longer at the back and the stitching on them makes it look like they are almost inside out.
They was a few different colours (yellow, pastel pink, grey and cream) so I may need a few more in my wardrobe.. by a few I mean pretty much all of then.

Hope you enjoyed this little outfit post

Minimal make up red lip..

I've seen a few images flowing around the web at the moment of minimal makeup looks with a red lip. I think people have different opinions on minimal makeup but when I say minimal make up this time, I mean very minimal. No mascara.
I don't think I've ever worn make up before without wearing mascara, well part from when I was very young and only just discovered what concealer was. I admit I was a little scared to wear mascara then but once starting wearing it I have never stopped, until this day.
I am a lover of a good lipstick and mostly focus my make up around a lipstick. Burberry did a similar look for there spring/summer15 show but with London fashion week been and gone, again, a lot of the make up looks had hardly any eye make up on so I'd though I'd give it a go myself...

I have to admit I really don't hate it.. I do have small eyes so mascara helps just to lift them a little but I love the focus on the bold bright lips. The red lipstick I wore here was Macs red which I love at the moment. Its not matte compared to some of the other Mac lipsticks but is a satin so its not gonna go anywhere any time soon.
I have to admit I did put some mascara on before I left the house...
I will wear it without mascara one day!

Would you wear this look?
