Outfit: being a child again...

I think most girls when they were little would have, at some point, ran around the house wearing something of there mums whether it was a top, a piece of jewellery or a pair of shoes. I definitely did, especially shoes.

This morning I couldn't decided what to wear and over the last couple of weeks I have been admiaring my beautiful mum wearing this little military style shirt dress from Zara. Every time I see her in it always think how pretty she looks and how In love I am with the dress so today I decided to be a child again and steal it from her wardrobe..

It did bring back memories.Making me feel like a kid again as it was very big and oversized but felt very cosy and comforting to wear. Although if I had worn it on its own it would have been a little big but another steal from mums wardrobe was this skinny leopard print belt from biba and once tied around the waist no one would have known it was to big.

I am in love with this outfit, especially since it just reminds me of my mum. Just like a kid again trying to be a grown up, which I suppose is kind of true still.

Thanks mum for this outfit!

Lets go shopping!

I spend a lot of my time browsing online stores and probably spending my money before it actually goes into my bank account, ooppss. Online shopping is a great way for inspiration for outfits even if your not actually buying anything, also looking at the latest trends and stuff that may not actually be in store .
This week has been my week off so while sitting at my laptop most of the day doing my college work  I can get easily distracted.

Today I Thought I would share some of my favourite online stores that I get inspired by and look at to see if theres anything new thats caught my eye...

Lately one of my favourite websites has been ASOS - I have been going on ASOS a lot recently as they have some great pieces, especially a lot of the 70s and 90s inspired clothing which I love. The photography of ASOS clothing is great to see how they are styled. I also love the personal stylists which again show favourite pieces of theres and how to style them (especially love Megan).

The Whitepepper- I Love the clothing on the whitepepper as they make amazing smock dresses with different prints and patterns on. I have my eye on a dinosaur print dress right now. They do great sales and a lot of there clothing is really unique with a girly twist.

Topshop- Topshop is one of my favourite stores so of courses its gonna be one of my favourite sites. My nearest store is pretty small so they don't hold as much and don't stock the boutique sections which they do online and in other stores. I also love looking at the 'new in this week' section to see what catches my eye.

Forever 21- I think the nearest forever 21 store to me is Glasgow so I don't get there very often and when I do they never seem to have my size in anything but I love going on there website as the prices are so cheap but are great and can be good quality.

Zara - Again like forever 21 I don't live near a store so I don't get there very often but find myself often browsing online. I love Zara for there more simple clothing pieces and also a classy clean cut look.

Outfit: Something a little different..

I've been looking at camel coloured skirts for a while now and was a little scared as the colour is a little different for me. I have been trying to decided how I would style them and if I could actually pull one off or whether I might just look a little odd.

There has been a few I have seen in many places like Topshop and ASOS but with the price tag and the fact I wasn't sure if I would actually wear it, it seemed a little pointless splashing the cash on one.

I was browsing on the New Look website not so long ago and came across this little one. It was a little different with the zip running down the front and with the price tag being very reasonable I thought I would give it a try.

Am not gonna lie, it has been sitting in my draw for a good few weeks now with the tags still on. I just seemed to look at it, try it on and then think 'nope don't like it' and throw it back in the draw for next time but today I was determined to make it work and I realised that wearing it with a all black outfit was my best option and now I kinda like it..

This little black jumper is from next and I decided just to tuck it in to make it must more flattering and then for shoes I kept it simple with some little black Topshop 'geek shoes' as they are described online. Plain and simple but I think I might actually take the labels off now and wear it haha

Valentines weekend

I am very late on this but I really wanted to write a little post involving valentines day.

I have to admit I am not a big believer in valentines day, sometimes I just think its a marketing thing for people to spend more money and that love should be shared all the time, shouldn't just be one day, right?
I have never received a valentines card though and this year I got my first with some beautiful red roses and a bottle of my favourite perfume (The boy did good)
I was feeling inspired by valentines day this year so I did some girly pink make up and a little valentines outfit, which I have also been wearing a lot recently.

I did manage to catch this horrible bug which has been going around over the weekend so a pizza and movie night was off the cards and I spend most of the weekend at work, in bed and also with my head down the toilet (to much information? maybe just a little) but none the less I wanted to show you guys my make up and outfit for the romantic day.

I decided to go pretty simple with my make up just wearing Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream as my lip balm/gloss and wearing a rose gold eye look using urban decay naked 1 palette, Macs all that glitters eyeshadow and Macs satin taupe in the crease. I added a standard cat eye flick but with a brown eye liner to make it a little softer. A little bronzer with a rosy blush finished the look off perfectly.

My outfit is mostly from miss Selfridge. I wore my standard black skinny jeans and this amazing duck egg blue blouse (not online but in store) which shows off a women's figure amazingly. Added a bit of my standard look with the frilly school girl looking socks and these amazing new shoes from Topshop(Similar)!
